Artrageous is poised to blow the roof off the Birdsong Theater. A high-energy live performance troupe hailing from New Mexico, Artrageous combines live painting, creative comedy, blacklight Bunraku, and high-energy music into a single, get-up-and-dance experience. On Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m., families are encouraged to attend this electrifying art and music circus.

The Artrageous Troupe, comprised of artists, musicians, singers, and dancers, pays homage to various art forms, pop icons, and musical genres, culminating in a gallery of stunning finished paintings created live on stage. Audiences are in for a treat witnessing this ancient Japanese art form, requiring three puppeteers dressed entirely in black to collaborate in animating life-sized puppet figures. This show promises to be unlike anything witnessed before, offering a kaleidoscopic adventure that redefines expectations of live entertainment.

“Artrageous feels like Willy Wonka meets Picasso at a Rock concert. Children and families, young and young at heart, will absolutely be immersed in every art form,” shares Rick Byrd, Suffolk Center Creative Director.
