Nansemond River’s Taylor Shreck pitched lights out Thursday, allowing just one run and fanning 12 batters in the 9-1 win over Lakeland. Shreck also provided herself with some insurance, driving a deep shot over the centerfield fence in the bottom of the first inning, en route to a perfect 2 for 2 at the plate with three RBI. Reagan Parkman was also a perfect 3 for 3 from the plate, with three RBI.
Shreck was not the only Lady Warrior to go yard. In the bottom of the sixth, Kennedy Linhardt launched a shot over the centerfield fence for a solo home run.
The Lady Warriors needed just 10 hits to seal the win and improve to 9-7 on the season and face Hickory at home on Tuesday, May 7, at 5:45 p.m.
