The Lakeland Lady Cavaliers managed to quiet a Kings Fork offense that scored 55 runs in its last two games, knocking off the Lady Bulldogs 14-4 on Thursday.
Lakeland’s Abi Morean got the scoring started, grounding out but driving in one run in the first inning. The Lady Cavaliers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Kara Russell singled, Ayanna Watson singled, and Hannah Joyner walked, each scoring one run.
Lakeland High School scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning, putting the game out of reach.
Kings Fork committed eight errors in the game and managed four runs on just two hits, three walks, and 11 strikeouts.
