Suffolk Center welcomes ‘Hit Men of Country’

The Suffolk Center welcomes Hit Men of Country at the Birdsong Theater on Saturday, May 18, at 8 p.m. The show promises to be a delight for country music enthusiasts, featuring five accomplished musicians who have collaborated with some of country’s greatest hitmakers, Hit Men of Country delivers a string of beloved hits, including favorites like “God Bless The USA,” “No One Else” “Somebody Like You,” “Big Green Tractor,” and “I Swear.” Audiences will also be treated to insider backstage stories from The Hit Men of Country about their experiences with the country legends they’ve worked with over their illustrious careers.

Keyboardist Doug Carter has toured with country legends such as Lee Greenwood, the Gatlin Brothers, Crystal Gayle, Debbie Boone, Sam Moore, Doug Stone, Little River Band, Pam Tillis, and the Bellamy Brothers. Electric guitarist Jayson Chance, a third-generation professional musician based in Nashville, TN, has lent his talents to artists like Gretchen Wilson, Ty Herndon, Thompson Square, Tyler Farr, Tracy Lawrence, Lee Greenwood, Montgomery Gentry, Jamie O’Neal, Colt Ford, among others.

Acoustic guitarist Jeff Zona, an accomplished musician, has toured with notable classic country artists, including Grammy winner and five-time CMA vocalist of the year Lee Greenwood, Grammy winner David Ball, The Bellamy Brothers, and Lorrie Morgan. Drummer David Northrup boasts an extensive list of credits, having worked with Rock Legend John Waite, John Mellencamp, and Country Artists such as Wynonna Judd, Travis Tritt, Joe Diffie, Tanya Tucker, and more. The fifth band member, Don Mott, is a top bass player and vocalist who has served his country as a Marine and a musician for the U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps bands.

Attendees of The Hit Men of Country performance are invited to a free ‘pre-show’ Western kick-off party at the newly renovated outdoor space Outdoors at the Center. At 6 p.m., guests can enjoy live music, line dancing, snacks, and a cash bar before the concert begins at 8 p.m. inside the Suffolk Center’s Birdsong Theater.
