Residential Fire Displaces Two Adults in Suffolk

Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in the 100 Block of Edgewood Avenue early Sunday morning.

According to a release from SFD, crews arrived on the scene at 3:18 a.m. to smoke showing from a single-story residence and visible flames from a bedroom window. Engine companies conducted an interior attack while the rescue and ladder companies searched throughout the residence.

The blaze caused significant fire damage to the bedroom and extensive smoke damage throughout the entire structure, resulting in the displacement of two adults. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control by 3:43 a.m.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire’s cause and origin. Suffolk Police provided support by managing the scene and controlling traffic.
