SUFFOLK — Amos J. Copeland Jr., 68, died April 7, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was born in Nansemond County, Va., on May 11, 1941. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Amos and Thersa Vick Copeland; one son, Michael A. Copeland; three sisters, Edith C. Knight, Virgie C. Joe and Irene C. Eason; and one brother, William T. Copeland.
He was a member of St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church in the Boston area of Suffolk.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three granddaughters: LaToya Parker, Kimberly Parker and Erika Parker, all of Norfolk; two great-grandchildren, Dante’ Williams Jr. and Nevaeh Williams; a special friend, Mary A. Brook, of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Saint Mark A.M.E. Zion Church, Suffolk, officiated by the Rev. Willmers Williams. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
