Doris Wiggins Hurley Williams, 75, of Suffolk, Va., passed away Dec. 1, 2009. She was born in Goldsboro, N.C., the daughter of the late Lois Avery and Johnnie Horace Wiggins. She was predeceased by two husbands, George Hurley Jr. and John Edwin Williams, and a brother, Buck McCoy Wiggins. Doris was a member of Suffolk Christian Church, the West Memorial Class, and the Afternoon Circle.
Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl H. and Kenneth Griffin, of Suffolk, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law, George “Bucky” Hurley III and Kay Hurley, of Suffolk, Va., Keith and Becky Hurley, of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Laura, Heather, and Chris Hurley, Kyle and Mary Shannon Griffin; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Horace Wiggins and Ruby Wiggins, of Richmond, Va.; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A service will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Suffolk Christian Church with the Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, Friday night from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and other times at the residence of Cheryl and Kenneth Griffin.
