Yet another member of the Bounty Hunter Bloods, a gang that operated in Suffolk, Chesapeake and Portsmouth, has been sentenced in federal court for his gang activity.

Craig Steven “Light Bright” Foster, 24, of Portsmouth was sentenced to 12 ½ years in prison on assault and firearms charges, according to U.S. Attorney Neil H. MacBride.

Foster had pleaded guilty in May to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of a racketeering activity and one count of using a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. He received 66 months in prison on the first charge and 84 months on the second.

Court documents reveal that Foster and several co-defendants drove to a home in Chesapeake in June 2007 with the intent of committing a home-invasion robbery. A co-defendant had visited the home a few weeks earlier to see about renting it, had noticed a safe in the master bedroom and then had provided the information to fellow gang members.

When the gang members got to the home, they forced their way inside and demanded at gunpoint that the victim give them money from the safe. They hit the woman several times with the gun. The men fled the house when the victim began to scream, and they dropped the weapon in the front yard.

All eight of the gang members who were picked up in an April sweep have pleaded guilty to various criminal charges related to gang activity. Two of those suspects, Danyell Jamar White, 21, and Cameron Mychal Evans, 21, were from Suffolk.
