Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Russell of Suffolk are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Maegan Elizabeth Russell, to Brandon Dean Leo Gunnell.

Ms. Russell is currently a student at Tidewater Community College in the occupational therapy assistant program. She is the maternal granddaughter of Mr. Larry C. Small and the late Donna L. Small, of Waynesboro, and the paternal granddaughter of Mrs. Dorothy M. Russell and the late Percy F. Russell, of Suffolk.

Mr. Gunnell is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Gunnell, of Gates County, N.C., and Ms. Jolene Gunnell, of Wilmington, N.C. He is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Mazzoli of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and the paternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dean Callaway. Brandon is employed with W.O. Gubb Inc. as a crane operator.

The couple will be united in marriage on Dec. 15, 2012, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Suffolk.
