Robert Lee Harris Jr., 59, of 7830 Parke West Drive, Glen Burnie, Md., passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Robert Lee Harris Sr. and Lillian White.

He graduated from East Suffolk High School and served in the U.S. Marines. He was employed in Washington, D.C. in the thrift office.

He is survived by a devoted friend, Ann Harrell, of Suffolk; two daughters, Pamela Gates Pierce and Lois Vanessa Gary, both of Suffolk; one son, Torreon Harris, of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Henrietta Cherry, Shirley Parker, Mary Harris and Mollie (Lillian) Harris, all of Suffolk; one brother, Willie Lee Harris, of Suffolk; five nieces and 12 nephews; and a host of great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 at St. Mary’s Church of God In Christ, 3637 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, officiated by Elder Dwight Nixon. Interment will be in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
