Herbert Riddick “Pete” Wiggins, 80, passed away Nov. 1, 2010 at his residence.

Born in Gates County, N.C., he was the son of the late Charlie and Adelaide Wiggins Sr. On Nov. 13, 2010, he would have celebrated 59 years with his loving wife, Louise Briggs Wiggins.

Pete was an auto mechanic for more than 40 years and retired as owner and operator of Eastover Service & Repair. He was a member of West End Baptist Church, Travelers Post “P,” and the Suffolk Elks Lodge 685. Pete lived life to the fullest and whenever you saw him he always had a good joke to share. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda W. Eure and husband, Danny J. Eure, of Eure, N.C.; sons, V. Keith Wiggins, of Suffolk, H. Wayne Wiggins and wife, Debbie, of Suffolk; grandsons, Wade Wiggins, of Portsmouth, Scott Wiggins and wife, Heather, of Suffolk; great-grandson, Gavin Wiggins; sisters, Clara W. Page, of Mechanicsville, Va., and Catherine W. Merz, of Glen Allen, Va.; brother, Horace H. Wiggins, of Suffolk.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434 by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby Jr., with entombment at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to West End Baptist Church, 501 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434 or the American Diabetes Association, Chesapeake Office, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Greenbrier Tower II, Suite 404, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
