Six displaced in trailer fire

Two people were sent to the hospital after a blaze in a mobile home Thursday.

The fire in the Magnolia Lakes Trailer Park in the 1100 block of Nansemond Parkway was reported just before 4 p.m. Units were on scene nine minutes later.

Upon their arrival, there was heavy fire on one side of the double-wide mobile home. The female homeowner and her 4-year-old daughter were taken by ground ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for observation.

No firefighters were injured.

Two adults and four children were displaced. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
