Navy Seaman Apprentice Kristopher M. Jordan, son of Renee and Alvin E. Jordan of Suffolk, along with other sailors assigned aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, arrived in the U.S. 5th Fleet’s area of responsibility after the ship completed a routine transit through the Suez Canal.

Truman is on a scheduled deployment conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions for Operation Enduring Freedom.

Truman deployed July 22 from Norfolk.

Jordan is a 2009 graduate of Nansemond River High School and joined the Navy in September 2012.
