Ms. Rachel O. “Pinky” Johnson, 61, of 6970 Crittenden Road, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late James E and Pauline Pittman Johnson.

She was a 1971 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and a graduate of Norfolk State University, where she retired after many years of service.

Rachel was a member of Diamond Grove Baptist Church and is survived by her two aunts, the Rev. Medicia Wright and Mrs. Lillie R. Alston; one uncle, Mr. Herbert Pittman; and a devoted companion Duain Curry Jr.; along with numerous cousins, family and friends.

A home going service will be held on Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Diamond Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be immediately following the service in Oakland Cemetery.
