Buchanan named to PTK

Louisburg College has announced that Toby Buchanan, of Suffolk, has been accepted into the college’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Gamma Upsilon. Candy Jones ‘99, director of library services and director of the Taylor Honors Program, serves as chapter advisor.

PTK is the international honor society of two-year colleges. Phi Theta Kappa serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of college students, and provides opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming. Students are invited to join based on the completion of at least 12 hours of coursework and a minimum GPA of 3.5.

 

Moulden graduates

Jeffrey Moulden, of Suffolk, graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts in business management.

 

Kerr graduates from University of Kansas

Danielle Kerr, of Suffolk, will receive a Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical studies at the University of Kansas graduation May 15.

More than 4,500 of the members of the class of 2016 are expected to participate in the university’s 144th commencement.

 

Jones makes Dean’s List

Jordan Jones, of Suffolk, qualified for the spring 2016 Dean’s List at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5, with no grade below a C.

Approximately 38 percent of Belmont’s 5,600 undergraduate students qualified for the spring 2016 Dean’s List.
