Eric Zivan Brown Jr., 21, affectionately known as “Chuckie,” passed away on Jan. 16, 2017.

Chuckie was a 2013 graduate of Lakeland High School. He was a member of the Lakeland Cavaliers football team, participated in the Antioch UCC youth usher board, the Fye A’s youth baseball team, and the Suffolk Steelers football team. Eric received his certification for forklift driving from the Pruden Center, and he was employed at Cloverleaf Cold Storage at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Buddy Brown.

Eric leaves behind his beloved parents, Eric and Denise Brown; devoted godparents, Kimberly and John Beamon; brothers, Henry Barnes, Jamar Brown and Kwamae Saunders; sisters, Erica Higgs, Crystal and Chasity Whitehead and Vanisha Brown; grandparents, Beulah Brown, Carolyn and Kenny Bell, and Joyce Boone; godsister and brother, DaJohna and Dennis Whitehead; a special friend, Rachelle Ross; and a host of relatives and friends.

Mr. Brown’s visitation will take place from noon to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries Church.
