Robert “Wayne” Truitt, 69, of Maiden, passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 26, 1948 in Nansemond County to the late Louis and Ivy Powell Truitt, and he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Wayne Truitt, and brother, Kenneth Gayle Thomas.

Wayne was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Hickory, N.C. He enjoyed shooting, fishing, spending time with his family and friends and playing cards with his sister, Connie.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Regina Payne Truitt; son, Bobby Truitt and wife, Teresa, of Suffolk; brother: Alfred Lee Truitt and wife, Rita, of Suffolk; sister, Connie Truitt, of Suffolk; grandchildren: Brian Wayne Truitt, Ashley Edgars, Karis Cornett, Lisa Castelow, Brianne Hill and Maddie Truitt; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at CrossPointe FWB Church in Suffolk, by Pastor David Sexton.
