Three Lady Bulldogs were selected to the All-Region teams after advancing almost all the way to the state tournament.

The King’s Fork High School girls’ soccer team was one game away from making back-to-back state tournament appearances. After defeating Lafayette High School in the first round of the regional tournament, they took a second-round loss to Jamestown High School. Because of a mostly solid season, the Lady Bulldogs earned their fair share of postseason accolades.

Ashley Bido, Hannah Marston and Alexis Alston were all second team All-Region selections. Bido scored both of the team’s goals in the first playoff win and ended her senior season on a strong note after making All-Region as a junior as well. She was a first team All-Region selection last year at defender and was an All-Region selection this year at forward.

“I am grateful to have earned All-Region,” Bido said. “I think it shows my versatility on the field and my ability to do whatever it takes to achieve the goals set forth by my team. For that, I am proud I was able to get recognized.”

Bido was an All-State selection last year as well and is hoping to repeat with that accolade as well. Marston, a senior, made All-Region last year and had hoped to achieve again this season, and she did. Marston and Bido were both co-captains for the team this season.

“I don’t think I would have been able to make All-Region without my amazing teammates and their performance this season,” Marston said. “I am very happy to make the region team for the second consecutive year. It is gratifying to see the hard work put into this season paid off.”

Alston made the team as a defender and was a key part of the Lady Bulldogs’ defense of attack this season. They won the first playoff game in shutout fashion. Alston will also be returning for her junior season next year.

“I am happy to have seen Ashley and Alexis make the team for the hard work that earned them both a spot,” Marston said.
