Passersby are likely to see a number of emergency vehicles at King’s Fork High School Thursday afternoon, but it’s just a drill.
The Suffolk Police Department plans to conduct an active shooter drill in conjunction with Suffolk Fire and Rescue from 2 to 4 p.m. at King’s Fork High School. Both Fire & Rescue and the police department have partnered with Suffolk Public Schools for the drill.
The groups plan to simulate an active shooter scenario on a school campus, and it is designed to be a learning environment for participants to carry out response plans, policies and procedures.
The drill will include school officials, law enforcement, firefighters and paramedics.
