Police seek grand larceny suspect

Suffolk Police are seeking help from the public identifying a suspect who stole two diamond rings from a Suffolk jewelry store.

The incident happened at 2:06 p.m. Nov. 21 at Kay Jewelers in the 1200 block of North Main Street, according to a city press release.

The suspect asked to look at engagement rings and then escaped with two diamond rings, the release stated.

In surveillance footage released by police, the man can be seen sitting at a jewelry case looking at rings with an employee. He then gets up and walks, then runs, toward the door. The employee follows him out the door.

The man was able to get away on a brown bike and headed north on North Main Street, the press release states.

The man is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 140 to 160 pounds, light facial hair, wearing blue jeans, a black jacket with plaid sleeves, tan boots and a dark tan hat.
