The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy boys’ basketball team came in at No. 8 in the first Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II poll.

NSA sits at 9-3 on the season, better than the start they had through the same number of games last season. The Saints came in at No. 8 in the poll that came out this week. The Saints can continue to move up through the poll as they continue to win games in its conference.

The Saints’ most recent loss came to Walsingham Academy, currently No. 1 in the Division III poll. With only two games into the new year, the Saints like where they are right now, and they have even more room to improve under their first year with Coach Chris Furhmann.
