Lady Warriors take series with Lakeland

Nansemond River High School girls’ basketball team got its second win of the season over its crosstown rival Lakeland High School.

The Lady Warriors went on the road for the 52-38 win over Lakeland. The win allows the Lady Warriors to finish runner-up in the city championship for this season, with Lakeland finishing third. Both teams lost to King’s Fork High School.

Taylor Paquette led the Lady Warriors in scoring with 14. Ashlee Robertson and McKinlee Goodloe both scored in double figures, with 10 and 12 points, respectively.

No Lady Cav scored in double figures. Nansemond River will take on King’s Fork at home at 7 p.m. Friday. Lakeland will take on Indian River High School at home at 7 p.m. Friday.
