James Thomas Magee Sr., 72, peacefully passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 6, 2019. He was the son of the late Henry and Rae Magee. He is predeceased in death by his wife, Linda Dawes Magee, and a sister, Addie Phillips.

James is survived by his children: James Thomas Magee Jr. (Amy), of Richmond, Jodi Magee Williams (John), of Gates, N.C., and Jamie Magee, of Suffolk; two sisters, Katherine Peel, of Baltimore, Md., and Dorothy Rowe, of McKenney; and his grandchildren, Lily and Reece Williams and lady friend, Pauline Padgette.

James retired as an assistant road master for CSX Railroad. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends at Suffolk Golf Course.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to make donations to a charity of your choice in his name. Condolences may be offered at RWBakerFH.com.
