It’s a light, day-after-Election Day agenda on tap for Suffolk City Council Wednesday with a trio of consent agenda items and no work session presentations.

The work session lists just two items — appointments and appointee evaluations. Both are slated to be discussed in closed session.

The council’s regular session has just three items on its consent agenda and a motion to schedule a council work session for 4 p.m. Nov. 20.

The consent agenda’s three items include:

• An ordinance to appropriate nearly $2.7 million from the 2019 sale of bonds to pay for public safety radios in the fiscal year 2019-2020 information technology fund budget.
• A resolution to allow City Manager Patrick Roberts to execute a change order to an agreement with Motorola Solutions Inc. for the replacement of 580 portable radios that have outlived their service lives.
• An ordinance to allow the transfer of Highway Safety Improvement Program money from Phase I and Phase III, to Phase II of the Portsmouth Boulevard sidewalk project.

Council has appropriated money in prior years from the Virginia Department of Transportation to provide a five-foot concrete sidewalk along the north side of Portsmouth Boulevard. However, there is a $400,493 shortfall for Phase II of the sidewalk project, and Phase I and Phase III of the project has the same amount of Highway Safety Improvement Program money available.

The work session will begin at 5 p.m. and is expected to go straight into closed session. The regular meeting will start at 7 p.m. The council meetings will take place in the council chamber of City Hall.
