The 300 block of East Washington Street reopened Saturday following demolition of a building damaged by Tropical Storm Isaias, according to a city press release.

The city originally said the building was damaged by a tornado spawned by Isaias, then said it was not storm related at all. However, further investigation determined it was damaged by the tropical storm, but not the associated tornado.

Demolition of the Knight Finance building on the corner of West Washington Street and Saratoga Street, which was damaged by an EF1 tornado, one of two that struck the city Aug. 4, is set to take place this week.
