Suffolk police seek unknown thieves

Published 11:43pm Thursday, August 29, 2013

Suffolk police are seeking information about a grand larceny at a North Suffolk business earlier this month and are asking for the public’s assistance.

Unknown suspects stole an exterior air-conditioning unit, parts of an air compressor and about 60 feet of metal downspouts from Big Al’s Muffler and Brakes in the 4800 block of Bridge Road, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said in a press release.

The incident happened on the evening of Aug. 15 or the early morning of Aug. 16. The materials were valued in excess of $1,000.

Video surveillance shows an older pickup truck loaded with tires driving nearby.

Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Detective S. Solodyankin is the lead investigator and can be reached at 514-7933.
