The Nansemond River High School golf team team defeated Lakeland High School 333-412 last Thursday at the Cahoon Plantation Golf Course.

Griffin Genier of the Warriors was medalist with a score of 77 on the par-72 course. Rounding out the rest of Nansemond River’s team score was Bryce Strong with an 83, Ryan Sams with an 86 and Caleb Knaack with an 87.

Blake Harris led the way for the Cavaliers with a round of 95 followed by Dalton Hoffman who hit a 102 and Jacob Diggs with a 103. Beth Campbell and Blake Bullock rounded out the top four scores for Lakeland, tying with rounds of 112.

Nansemond River (6-1) will play Indian River High School and Lakeland (0-7) will face off against King’s Fork High School on Tuesday at Nansemond River Golf Club.
