A Suffolk businessman presented an Aug. 12 seminar on social media marketing offered by the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association.

The seminar, presented by Farmers Bank of Suffolk’s director of marketing, Damien Smith, attracted area mortgage-industry banking professionals as well as Realtor and affiliate members from the Hampton Roads Realtors Association and was held in the association’s Alpha College of Real Estate classrooms.

Smith reminded students that “change is inevitable — change is perpetual” as they learned about the fast-evolving world of social media and its use to build leads and grow business, particularly in the real-estate industry.
