Cavs fall to Western Branch

The Lakeland High School boys’ basketball coach Clint Wright suspects his team may have been guilty on Thursday of looking ahead to Friday’s showdown with cross-city rival Nansemond River High School.

The Cavaliers lost to visiting Western Branch High School on Thursday.

Lakeland sophomore guard Jerry Goodman led his team with 14 points and added three assists, while junior guard Daquan Boyette added 12 points. Junior forward Deonta Knight had eight points and eight rebounds.
