Draft Chesapeake Bay plan released

The city of Suffolk is requesting input from the public on a draft plan to limit pollution in area waterways.

According to a news release, the draft is the first phase of the city’s Chesapeake Bay TMDL (total maximum daily load) Action Plan, which is required for its stormwater discharge permit.

The plan can also be reviewed in the Public Works department office inside city hall, 442 W. Washington St.

By the end of this month, formal comments on the plan can be emailed to actionplancomments@suffolkva.us, or mailed to Department of Public Works, Attention Edward Heide, 442 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434.
