In observance of Independence Day, the following city offices will observe the following schedules:

• City offices are closed Friday and will reopen Monday at 8:30 a.m.
• The Visitor Center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
• All city libraries are closed Friday and Saturday.
• The Suffolk Art Gallery will be closed Friday through Monday and will reopen Tuesday at 10 a.m.
• All Suffolk Parks and Recreation joint use recreation facilities, as well as East Suffolk Recreation Center and Whaleyville Recreation Center, will be closed Friday and Saturday.
• Cypress Park Pool will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
• Lone Star Lakes, Sleepy Hole and Bennett’s Creek parks will be open Friday and Saturday, but no park attendant will be on duty. Constant’s Wharf Park and Marina will have the same schedule Friday but opens Saturday at 5:30 p.m. for the Stars and Stripes Spectacular.
• The Suffolk Executive Airport will remain open Friday, but the terminal will not be open or manned.
• Suffolk Public Works and TFC Recycling are observing their regular schedules this week.
• Suffolk Transit will operate on a reduced Friday schedule, running from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will utilize the regular schedule during those hours.
