The Peninsula Housing and Builders Association is returning to Founders Pointe in Carrollton for the 2016 Parade of Homes.

The PHBA and East West Partners, the developer of Founders Pointe, inked the final deal on Tuesday, said Peninsula Housing Chief Executive Officer Leslie Martin.

The event will run from Oct. 6-16, with the possibility of adding the weekend of Oct. 21-23, Martin said.

As details are ironed out, the organization will be releasing more information and the names of the builders who will be involved.

Martin said she expects to showcase 10 custom-built homes, with a price point starting around $500,000.

“We’re excited to be coming back to Isle of Wight County,” said Martin. “Founders Point is a beautiful community.

“This is a combination of the perfect location and good timing.”

The event will be PHBA’s first Parade of Homes since May 2013, which was also in Founders Pointe, Martin said.

More than 30,000 people turned out for that two-week event, said Branch Lawson, president of East West’s Hampton Roads division.

“I think it was a nice boost in the arm for Carrollton,” Lawson said. “Isle of Wight has been a good market for us.

“It’s a convenient commute for people that work at the shipyard on the Peninsula or in Harbour View.”

Only 95 of 320 lots remain in Founders Pointe, with homes ranging from $450,000 to $900,000, Lawson said.
