SUFFOLK, Va. — Dorothy C. Howard, of Suffolk, Va., passed away peacefully at her residence on July 4, 2010. She was born in Socorro, N.M., on July 1, 1939 to Ethel and Benjamin Bradham.
Dorothy retired from the federal civil service after 30 years as an illustrator, and was a gifted artist whose paintings hung in galleries throughout the country, including the Pentagon.
She was a loving, devoted wife and mother and a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Howard, of Suffolk, Va.; son Vance Calvez, of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; daughter Julie Stinson and son-in law, Jack Stinson, of Sequim, Wash.; daughter Michelle Howard, of Bellingham, Wash.; brother Edward Bradham; two grandchildren, Jack Ross and Ellie, and great-grandchild, Aiden.
A life celebration service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 at the Hilton Conference Center, located at 100 E. Constance Road in Suffolk.
