Willie Banks

Willie Banks, 73, of 515 Washington Ave., Troy, died Sept. 23, 1999 at his home.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on Madison Street in Troy, with the Rev. A.C. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Carroll Street Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

Banks was born June 1, 1926 in Coffee County to the late Mr. Adell and Maudie Mae McKinnis Banks. He retired from Colonial Banking Co., in Troy and served in the United States Army from an early age.

Survivors include his devoted friend, Carrie Mae Youngblood of Troy; three children, Thomas Lewis (Minnie Pearl) Banks of Troy; Angela (Paul) Truitt of Hohenfels, Germany; Willie Lewis (Carolyn) Banks of Hudson, Mass.; three sisters, Mary Banks of Louisville, Essie Mae Roper of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Viola McCray of Lakeland, Florida; one brother, David Banks of Louisville; two sisters-in-law, Mae Emma Banks of Louisville and Margie Bell Banks of Montgomery; three aunts Iren Belcher of Clio, Lucilla Sapp of Clio, Essie Mae Sapp of Daleville; one uncle, Walter James Sapp of Daleville; seven grandchildren, 12 nephews, 12 nieces and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Charles Allen, Tom Copeland, David Jackson, Jimmy Hill, Oscar Campbell and John Adams.

Floralbearers will be friends of the family.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1999 and the body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the services Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999.

Katie Hugh Beasley Chandler

Katie Hugh Beasley Chandler, 81, of Troy, died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at her home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 1999 at Dillard Funeral Home with the Rev. Talmadge Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her children, Anderson Lee Chandler of Troy, Sidney Frank Chandler of Montgomery, Gerald Chandler of Montgomery, Roy Chandler of Montgomery, Mary Kelly of Goshen, Michael Chandler, Debra Tedder of Goshen; grandchildren, Janice Jackson, Teresa Chandler, Richard Camp, Jerry Chandler, Jackie Chandler, Carroll Tedder, Calvin Tedder; great-grandchildren, Cheryl Barbour, Darian Jackson, Courtney Chandler, Courtney Camp, Brandon Headley, Aaron Pace, Shawn Barbour and Unborn Chandler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Lee Chandler; sons, James Chandler, Joseph Chandler, Ronnie Chandler and Howard Chandler.

Pallbearers will be Benny Beasley, Bobby Beasley, Bruce Beasley, Jerry Chandler, Richard Camp and Shawn Headley. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Wiregrass Hospice.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Hospice.

Lucille Redmon Law

Lucille Redmon Law, 86, of Troy, died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at Pike Manor Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999 at Antioch Church of Christ cemetery with the Rev. Tim Floyd officiating and Dillard Funeral Home directing.

Law was born March 23, 1913 in the Curtis Community in Coffee County.

Survivors include two sisters, Sybil Enzor of Jacksonville, Fla., Mildred Folmar of Troy; sisters-in-law, Ellie Ruth Redmon of Ansley; Terah Stewart of Henderson, Helen Law of Montgomery; five children, a daughter, Lois Ray of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., four sons, Kenneth (Joyce) Law, Jim (Dale) Law, all of Troy, William (Joyce) Law of Andalusia, John (Sue) Law of Ponce de Leon, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Ken (Amy) Law of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jeff (Melanie) Law of Panama City, Fla., Clare and Eric Law of Troy, Ellen Law of Dalton, Ga., Allison L. (John) Griffin of Montgomery, Stewart Ray of Birmingham, Jason Ray of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Connie (Vince) Brown of Ponce de Leon, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Lauren Law of Panama City, Fla., Nicholas and Jeremy Law of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Brad and Kody Brown of Ponce de Leon, Fla. She was preceded in death be her parents Clarence and Ida Redmon; husband, Noble Law, and brother Jeff Redmon.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
