If confidence and determination are important factors in seeing a project through to completion – and they are – then Hall Place is well on its way to reclaiming its status as one of Suffolk’s more attractive addresses.

On Sunday, reporter Luefras Robinson took an in-depth look at the ongoing efforts to put Hall Place revitalization and development on the right track and by all appearances, it is, thanks to the cooperation of city residents and officials who are committed to enhancing the quality of life there.

After five years of diligent research, community meetings and input from consultants a plan is expected to be approved by the Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the Suffolk City Council that will improve traffic patterns, create a more aesthetically pleasing environment and strength enforcement of housing violations – all central to turning Hall Place, or any community around.

That’s the way a project should work and Suffolk seems to have handle on that with the entire neighborhood and village initiative plan. The first step is to get the residents behind a plan and there is no better way to do that than to allow and encourage them to have input into the plan’s formulation.

Hall Place, or course, did not get in its present condition overnight and it won’t be transformed overnight, but the enthusiasm and dedication of the residents to seeing their dreams become reality is half the battle.
