Verizon customers should ask for refunds

Editor, the News-Herald:

Not only as a Verizon customer, but also as an advertiser in the Verizon yellow pages, I believe the customers and advertisers of Verizon should be calling for a refund.

The South Hampton Roads directory was delivered twice in my neighborhood and the Verizon Franklin-Smithfield directory once in the last month. I found my South Hampton Roads directory on the curb with its plastic sleeve open at one end so that the rain made a mess of my directory. I rode around the streets of my neighborhood and found phone books in the roadway, in the gutters, on the sidewalks in yards, and in bushes. How did you find your directory?

I must assume my advertising dollars do not mean much to Verizon and that Verizon does not care about me as a phone subscriber. Next year when the Verizon advertising salesperson comes by, I’ll ask for a hefty refund on my prior year’s advertising and a big discount of the coming year. Wake up Verizon!
