Gerard Challis Dawson, a resident of Suffolk and New York City, died Monday, July 15, 2002, in St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York.

He was the son of the late Dr. Challis H. and Mrs. Yvonne Dienne Dawson. He was born in Neuilly-Sur-Seine, Paris, France.

Mr. Dawson was educated in Suffolk Public Schools and graduated from Suffolk High School, class of 1944, and Harvard University, Class of 1948.

He as a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Tiffany and Co., Jewelers, after 30 years of service.

The graveside memorial service will be conducted at noon Saturdy in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Michael D. Halley.
