AAU Basketball coaches meeting today

Anyone interested in coaching AAU basketball for the Suffolk Blazers are asked to meet at 7 p.m. today

‘Canned Food’ game set for Nov. 23-27
The East Suffolk Federated Civil League will be holding its 18th annual &uot;Canned Food Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament&uot; Nov. 23-27 at Booker T. Washington Recreation Cen-ter. Eight teams of ages 9-12, 13-17, and 18-and-above will be allowed. Teams may have a maximum of 12 players. All team deposits or registration fees must be paid by Nov. 9.
All team members are required to bring a canned food to each game. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Suffolk Rescue Squad and all food will go to non-profit organizations.

AAU Basketball tryouts held twice a week
Open tryouts for AAU Basketball are being held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays in Oakland Elem-entary School. The schedule is as follows: Boys 12 and 13 years old on Mondays, and girls 11, 12, 13, and 14 on Thurs-days. Wrestling legends to visit NN on Oct. 20
Longtime wrestling rivals &uot;Beautiful&uot; Bobby Eaton of the &uot;Midnight Express&uot; and Ricky Morton of the &uot;Rock and Roll Express&uot; will square off in the 3rd Annual Virginia Champion-ship Wrestling Anniversary show at the Mitty’s nightclub in Newport News on Oct. 20.
The Barbarian, a former WWF and WCW superstar will be on the card, which will begin at 6 p.m. VCW champion Sean Lei will defend his title against Phil Brown,
