NANSEMOND RIVER
Opponents: Western Branch
Time/Place: 7:30 p.m., West-ern Branch High School
Outlook: The perennial Southeastern district powerhouse, the Bruins have shown their usual explosive power on their way to a 7-0 district record. Meanwhile, the Warriors are turning heads throughout the region with dominations of Oscar Smith, Deep Creek, and Great Bridge. Call it youth vs. experience, enthusiasm vs. knowledge, the rookie vs. the veteran, etc., but this might be one eye-popping game.
Western Branch 30, Nanse-mond River 24.
LAKELAND
Opponents: Indian River
Time/Place: 7:30 p.m., Indian River High School
Outlook: The Cavaliers finally got some momentum last week in a victory over Hickory, but the Braves have always been legitimate contenders. Indian River is playing for a shot at or near the top of the district; Lakeland is playing for pride.
Indian River 20, Lakeland 13.
NANSEMOND-SUFFOLK ACADEMY
Opponents: Hampton Roads Academy
Time/Place: 7 p.m., Hampton Roads Academy
Outlook: The Saints showed more offensive power than usual last week in a 26-0 defeat of Greenbrier Christian, and it’s a streak they need to keep going if they’re going to play alongside unbeaten Atlantic Shores on Nov. 1.
Nansemond-Suffolk 17, Ha-mpton Roads 7.
