Franklin R. Goodman

HAMPTON – Early Friday morning, God dispatched his loving angels and called home Franklin Delano Roosevelt Goodman from labor to reward. &uot;Frankie-D,&uot; as he was often called, was the third born and second son to the late Linwood Goodman Sr. and Ollie Mary Harrell Goodman in Whaleyville.

He attended Robertson Elementary School and completed East Suffolk High School.

Frank was wed to Mary E. Goodman, whose son became Frank’s son. Frank retired from the Norfolk Navy Shipyard.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: wife, Mary E. Goodman; two sons, Franklin D.R. Goodman Jr. (Tashondi) and Douglas McCall; two daughters, Cynthia Nadine Goodman and Alesia Goodman; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; and several relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Mt. Joy Family Worship Center, Elder W.P. Wiggins officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Langston Cemetery, Suffolk.

Viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday in T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
