City Council Agenda

The Suffolk City Council will be meeting at the Municipal Building, 441 Market St., at 7 o’clock tonight.

Items on the agenda include:

2. Approval of Consent Agenda:

— Approval of the minutes;

— An ordinance to accept and appropriate $19,963 from the state Compensation Board for the Clerk of the Circuit Court (second reading);

— An ordinance to accept and appropriate $3,532 from various donors (first reading);

— An ordinance to accept and appropriate a grant renewal award in the amount of $59,416 from the Department of Criminal Justice Services for the Suffolk Reduction in Domestic (RID) Violence Program and to appropriate $19,805 in local cash match (first reading);

— A resolution accepting the Virginia Department of Transportation’s recommendation to terminate the Southeast Bypass Feasibility Study;

3. A resolution to adopt the Capital Improvements Program budget for the fiscal years 2004-2005 to 2013-2014;

4. An ordinance to appropriate $48.3 million to fund the projects in the fiscal year 2004-2005 Capital Improvements Budget (second reading);

5. Staff report on storm water utility;

6. Staff report on the governor’s proposed budget and tax reform plan;

7. Staff report on high speed rail;
