Gladys H. Taylor

Gladys H. Taylor, 83, of 2133 Arizona Ave., Suffolk, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, in Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County, the daughter of the late William Henry Harper and Maggie Wiggins-Harper, and the widow of George S. Taylor.
She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, its Sunday School, Home Mission, Widowers’ Club, former church clerk, also a former Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout leader, and a former member of Union Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Ms. Beverly C. Lassiter of Suffolk; son, Gerald S. Taylor, and wife, Valerie, of Bowie, Md.; two grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Anna Shepherd of Suffolk and Myrtle Harper of Baltimore, Md.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; four special caregivers, Ann Robinson, Ann Daniels, Marsha Hudgins, and Joyce Hale.
The funeral will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 21, in Oak Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Anthony Copeland. Interment will be in Oak Grove Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
