The Seventh Annual Riddick’s Folly Ball will be held on March 29 at Cedar Point Country Club

F.A.B., formerly the Fat Ammons Band, will be providing the musical entertainment. While dancing the night away, those attending the formal event will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, and later that night, a silent auction.

Rhonda M. Bowles, publicity chairman for the event, said it’s set for Saturday night, March 29 and it will be held at Cedar Point Country Club on Route 17.

&uot;This event is our largest annual fundraiser, held to support historic Riddick’s Folly,&uot; said Bowles. &uot;The Folly is Suffolk’s 1837 Greek Revival home and museum and it’s constantly being restored to its original state with period furnishings, fixtures and dcor. There are also Civil War period articles and letters and a great deal more interesting items to view. The Folly also houses an expansive gift shop where some beautiful souvenirs may be purchased by visitors to the home.&uot;

Speaking of fixtures and dcor, the Folly recently had installed two beautiful crystal chandeliers of the type expected to be seen in the finest homes. Hundreds of crystals cast a myriad of dancing prisms of light across the rooms.

Maintaining the Folly is an expensive endeavor and the ball helps pay for repairs as well as other important needs at the home.
