Starkey’s free throw lifts Saints to 42-41 win

A free throw by Garrett Starker was the sole overtime point in Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s 42-41 victory over host Tidewater Academy on Tuesday. Allen Bynum led the Saints (2-0, 0-0) with 16 points. They will host Poquoson on Thursday.

Big comeback dooms Lady Saints to loss

Norfolk Christian won three consecutive games to defeat visiting Nansemond-Suffolk Aca-demy on Monday, beating the Lady Saints 15-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-24, 15-9. The Lady Saints will return to action Thursday at Cape Henry.

Holiday basketball tourney starts Dec. 27

The Parks and Rec. Department is sponsoring a Men’s Holiday Basketball Tournament on Dec. 27-29 at Birdsong Recreation Center. The fee is $200 per team, and the registration deadline is Dec. 20. For more information, call 923-2366.
