The only constant in life is change, and Henry C. Murden has apparently decided he’s ready to take a new path in life at 83. On Tuesday the well known clerk of the Suffolk Circuit Court announced he’ll not seek re-election this year.
The declaration was made now to give potential candidates some time to plan their campaign. That is just the kind of courtesy and professionalism you would expect from someone who has given decades of service.
And in all those years, Murden has not merely witnessed changing times, but obviously adapted and succeeded through new technology. No doubt his successor will inherit a well-oiled machine consisting of modern equipment and a knowledgeable staff.
