Jerry Melvin Weaver, 65, of Marvin Avenue, Norfolk, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at his residence. He was a native of Nash County, N.C., and had retired as a lifelong carpenter.

He was a member and deacon of Brentwood Baptist Church, the 401st. TFW No. 612, was an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce W. Weaver; son, Scott A. Weaver of Norfolk; two brothers, Joseph D. Weaver Jr. of Snug Harbor, N.C.; and William Franklin Weaver of Windsor; four sisters, Doris B. Ange of Chesapeake; Peggy W. Rhodes and Patricia W. Copeland, both of Windsor; and Cheryl W. Taylor of Suffolk.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m.
