Lakeland scored a 52-49 overtime victory over visiting Hickory on Tuesday night. Whitney Lassiter led the Lady Cavaliers with 18 points, and Jamaica Mack added 11, all of which came in the second half and overtime. In junior varsity action, a free throw by Ashley McCord with 11 seconds left lifted the younger Lady Cavaliers to a 32-29 victory, upping their record to 11-1. Lakeland will visit Great Bridge on Thursday. Nansemond River scores were not available at press time.
