Joyce J. Seaborn

Ms. Joyce Jones Seaborn of the 700 block of Hollywood Avenue, Suffolk, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, in Obici Hospital.

She worked at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy prior to her illness.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was a daughter of the late Ann and Major Goodman, and raised by her maternal grandmother, the late Bertha Brown.

She was predeceased by two brothers, William C. Jones and Vernon L. Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur L. Seaborn; one brother, David Jones, and his wife, Theresa; four sisters, Barbara Smith (James), Denice Sheppard (Dwight), Bertha Winston (Paul), of Chesapeake; and Gloria Harvey (Ronald Duke); a foster sister, Ruby Davis; her sister-in-law, Joyce R. Jones; 16 nieces; 15 nephews; two uncles, Carl Goodman (Arlene) of Gates County, N.C.; and Claude Goodman of Philadelphia, Pa.; and her aunt, Ann Jennings of Philadelphia.

The memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness, 1351 White Marsh Road.

The family will receive friends at 400 Butternut Court, Suburban Woods.

The family would like to thank Obici Hospital and staff, the Suffolk Artificial Dialysis Center, Suffolk Medical Practice, Sentara Home Health, the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, friends, neighbors, and a special thank you to Solomon Darden for all his years of support to the Seaborn and Jones families.
