Edwin Lee Williams, 57, of 417 Webb St., peacefully passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Obici Hospital.
He was a member of Healing Temple Church where he served as a deacon.
He leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life his wife, Marie Savage Williams; three daughters, Aleshia (Mathew) Wynn, Nicole Shears, and Shelby (Kenneth) Hill; four sons, Edward Williams Jr., Bryan (Terresa) Shears Sr., William (Brenda) Norfleet, and Randy (Zina) Norfleet; 14 grandchildren, six sisters, Bertha Hill (Edward), Martha Edwards, Janice Campbell, Nellie Goodman, Delma Lawrence (John), and Orlean Lawrence; one sister-in-law, Edith Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Maxine Green, and a brother, Pernell Williams Sr., and a special grandchild, Antonio Smith.
Viewing will be held from noon-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003. The service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday at Healing Temple Church, Portsmouth. Interment will be held in Holly Lawn Cemetery. T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home is in charge.
