Mary P. Kinsey

On March 1, 2003, the Lord called one of His precious saint home. Mary Parker Kinsey, 84, died Saturday in Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

A native of Suffolk, she was a resident of Nansemond Point Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and was formerly of 214 Highland Ave., Suffolk.

She was the widow of William H. &uot;Bill&uot; Kinsey, and she was a daughter of the late Hersey McCoy Sumner and Virginia Lawrence Raby Sumner. She was predeceased by her former husband, Julian O. Parker.

She was the owner of Mary’s Beauty Shop.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, and she was also a former member of the Ladies of the Moose No. 1315.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Ginny and Everett Wayne Carper of Suffolk; and Judy and David Holt of Zuni; grandsons, William Thomas Johnson, Michael Adron Johnson, Jonathan David Holt, and James Robert Holt; great-grandchildren, Brett Adron Johnson and Sarah Parker Johnson; sister, Bessie Cavedo of Richmond; and brother, Poston Sumner of Ahoskie, N.C.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may join family from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in Harrell and Hill Funeral Home.
